| Hi everyone.....remember me? A lot has changed since I've last posted on here! I'm officially in Michigan and going to law school! Living out my dream which is very exciting....except that who knew that dreams came with sooo much work? :) I pretty much get up in the morning, take the bus to school, study before class, have a three hour class, go home and study some more, eat, and finish my night by reading. It's not a whole lot of fun but the end result will be worth it! The weather up here has been pretty nice for the most part. It hasn't gotten above 80 and I've already had to pull out my long sleeve shirts and jackets.....who knew I would have to do that in September? The only downfall to the weather here is the fact that when it is raining, it usually runs in 4 - 5 day stretches so it can be gloomy for a while. That makes me want to nap more than read :) The apartment is very nice! I have my own bedroom, bathroom and walk-in closet that I can lock off from the rest of the house when I leave. I also have a washer/dryer, microvave, kitchen area, refrigerator, living room area, 24 hour gym, pool, hot tub, game room and computer lab attached with my apartment so I really can't ask for much more. And I get a free bus pass with the apartment, so that's what I've been taking back and forth to class rather than paying to park. The interesting thing about where I am located is that I can't go anywhere without having to pay to park - even outside the city. That can be kind of frustrating! Classes have been very good. I hope I'm picking up all the information I need to know but I guess only time will tell. In law school you only have one test, which defines your entire grade for that class. That can be quite stressful but hopefully I'll be able to pull it off. I also learned that the Bar exam is just like the LSAT, so just when I thought I would never have to see that exam again, it comes back to haunt me. :( Other little tidbits of exciting news - Jesus Christ Superstar is going to be held at Michigan State this month and Ted Neeley (the original Jesus from the movie) is going to be in it! I'm soooo excited and I have a ticket to see him from the second row on the floor! I also think I'm going to be a getting a puppy and for anyone who knows me, you know how excited I am about this! Anyway, I guess I better get back to reading but I figured I would finally update and let everyone know what has been going on with my life! Hopefully I'll be back before too long! Talk to you soon! | | |
| Boy does the time fly when you're having fun.... :) I guess it's about time I update since it's only been about two months....
I just got back from Washington, D.C. a little over a week ago and I had a great time! I went on the usual convention trip with the National Broadcasting Society and there were 14 of us that attended which was awesome! We did a lot of sightseeing and I got to go to the International Spy Museum, which was something new for me. I also got to see Billy Joel in concert which was amazing....too bad he's married ;). I absolutely love Billy Joel! :) Ok...enough on him....lol I don't want to bore you too much....
For those of you who haven't heard, I did make a decision on law school. I will be heading to Thomas Cooley in Lansing, Michigan. So I'm leaving the St. Louis area the end of August. I'm pretty excited but I'm beginning to wonder if my choice is a good one since I'm always freezing here.....I've heard Michigan is sooo much colder. Can anyone lend me parka? :) But in all seriousness I'm very excited and can't wait to start that aspect of my life. I found an awesome apartment complex in that area that caters to Michigan State and Thomas Cooley students so I will be living in a dorm-type complex which I think will make me feel more comfortable. If anyone is interested, the school's website is www.cooley.edu so check it out :)
I guess that's it for now. I'm on spring break and working full-time in St. Charles, so that's keeping me pretty busy. When I get back to school only a few weeks left before graduation. I can't believe it....time is really going by fast and it will go quicker these next couple of weeks. Love you all and I'll try to update again soon!
| Hi everyone....long time no post :) Nothing too different or extraordinary to report...still staying busy as usual....
Today I had my internship at the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. I ended up making my first contact with a victim of crime and mailed letters out to victims so they can claim their restitution from the crime that was committed against them. It was pretty neat and I love the investigation aspect of my career choice...it really makes me feel like Nancy Drew sometimes :)
Since the semester has started I've begun taking piano lessons which is very exciting! I've always wanted to play an instrument and while i'm not Billy Joel yet, I have no doubt that with practice and determination I might be able to play at least one of his songs someday :)
Some exciting news coming up is my trip to Washington D.C. I love to travel and I haven't been in Washington since eighth grade so I'm really excited about that! My last convention with Lindenwood so while it's exciting it's also kind of bittersweet....
As for the college front, I now have sent out 21 applications out and I'm just playing the waiting game on who will accept me. I have received two rejection letters so far - one from Mizzou and the other one from Michigan State. I have been waitlisted at Saint Louis University. While I would love nothing more than to stay in St. Louis, I'm really hoping to just go to a law school that will accept me and give me the education I need to further my career. So keep your fingers crossed and I will keep you updated on any developments...
I guess that's it for now...don't want to bore you too much.....So take care until I post again!
| Hi everyone...it's me again :) Today has been pretty uneventful...i'm sitting at the front desk of Hazelwood and Weber because our secretary has been out for the last two weeks...i love it when i get caught up completely with all of my work except for the fact that it leaves me with nothing to do but surf the internet, play solitare or just people watch as i answer the phone...
I'm really excited about tonight however! I'm starting a new class at New Lady Fitness which i'm hoping to start doing every week...it's called turbo kick....hopefully it won't be too difficult but i'm definitely looking forward to how i'm going to feel when i leave :)
Christmas went pretty well...we got together with my mom's side of the family in New Baden and everyone was able to come except for my relatives out of state. I took a lot of pictures with my new toy ( a digital camera) and i definitely ate my fair share of food ;)
As for the rest of the week, I'm working tomorrow and hopefully going to see the christmas light display at the St. Louis Zoo. On Saturday, I'm getting a full body massage for an hour (so excited about that!) and then I'm going to the School Street Station for New Years...which is going to be awesome! :)
Other than that, no big plans for New Years Day other than sleeping and getting my stuff in order to come back to Lindenwood for J-term. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you a very Happy New Year! I'll talk to everyone soon! :)
